The past few days I've been working mostly on the Superdog Jake car sculpture. Its looking pretty good. So far I've got the armature in the works. I cut some smaller wood pieces and screwed it onto the side of the car. These will act as the base for the wheels.
I decided to add wire to the wood so that the clay will have better chances of staying on. I went out and got some more wire and used a hot glue gun to attach strips of wire to the wood. Its going alright and steady. I've also gotten to create a bit of the armature for Jake the dog. As i stand back from this piece, I can already see it so clearly in my minds' eye how it will look and it's going to look amazing!

I'm looking forward to it. Next up I will continue to add some wires wherever necessary, I'll build up the rear fin and then continue to develop the wire armature for Jake.
As for the Walrus sign, It's going well. I am really satisfied with how the face looks. But I've decided that I will most likely take off the feather on the hat and re-insert a few strands of wire or pre-bought metal feathers. At times I have an image in my minds eye, and sometimes what i create isnt that. haha. Leaves room for trying new things...
But I am enjoying getting to learn to fabricate my own designs, brining them from just an idea into a real dimensional piece. I can only imagine how epic it'd be to do this but with the same Theme structures/Environments I saw at West Edmonton Mall. That is the goal.
Stay tuned...
