Pearlman sign + New Design work

Today was a pretty great day. I got to glue some more layers onto the walrus sign and it holds up better than i had expected! I scratched my head for a while, pondering how i would make the armature for the tusks of the walrus, but then finally settled on drilling two holes in the snout area and then inserting a pair of thick wires. These should hold up pretty well.
Tomorrow, what's left to do is cleaning up the sign and then I will begin applying some tinfoil to bulken up the walrus's features and then apply clay. I am really looking forward to sculpting and bringing Pearlman to life! I will paint the background behind him as a sort of sky blue color with a subtle shilloute of his wooden ship.
In the meanwhile today I began to design my next themed dimensional piece, one that I've had my eyes set on for a while now. It's the superdog Jake in the side car scene from the picture book. I got a medium sized wooden base for it already, about a 1.5ft in diameter. I am excited to a tackle bigger project as it will begin to challenge the way i use materials.

I was playing around with the sidecar and added wings to it. Will it make it to the final design and execution? We will see, haha!
Stay tuned...
