Today i got do some pretty fun and exciting new work.
I got back into the little jake sculpture and began applying the clay. I worked it all around and it turned out pretty well. My favourite part was adding Jakes beautiful mane, which is like that of a lion. I really focused on adding layers, as this would really help the sculpture ''read'' easier.
I started considering what base i would use for this sculpture and decided to go for a round wooden one. I got my dad to help teach me how to use a jigsaw and to mark and cut a round piece of wood. It was so much fun! Of course at first i was intimidated but as i got working, and saw the shape of the wood take form, I was in heaven! WOW!'' i thought to myself ''i can create anything!'' It is such a rewarding sense of accomplishment.

So... with the clay all set in, i'll let it harden for a day or two and then attach it to the wooden base. Superdog Jake is coming to life!
Stay tuned...
