Bringing the Walrus Sign to Life!

Some exciting new updates . The past few days I've worked on both the Superdog Jake suclpture and the Walrus dimensional sign.

Oh boy. Its turning out really good. For the Superdog Jake sculpture I spend the past day cutting wire and attaching it all around the wooden armature. Additionally I got to create the wheel armature and reinforced the armarture for Jake. For the exhaust pipe on the rear I used a firm cylindrical piece of cardboard and wrapped it with wire. That should do the trick.

And what a diffrence It made when I finally got to bulking up Jake with tinfoil

Today was very exciting and rewarding as I got to add the clay to the walrus sign after having glued wire to the base and sides. The wires help the clay to stay on. I spent the rest of the afternoon today just carving the clay, primarily the wood grain texture on the bottom, and also the finishing rim that goes around the walrus.

I really really enjoyed sculpting. It is by far my favourite part and the part I excel most at. I can't wait to explore more textures on future projects.

By the end of the week both projects should be all set with clay and sculpted and left to harden. Then I will plan on painting them. It is simply awe- inspiring to see these designs ccme to life piece by piece.

Stay tuned for the final phase.
